This is a short video clip of me playing Mario's Tennis on the Nintendo Virtual Boy retro 3D video games console.
Obviously, as the camera can only point into one of the two eyepieces, you will not experience the excellent 3D effect in this video.
Published by Nintendo in 1995.
Not nearly as successful as other Mario Tennis versions, though this was largely down to poor sales of the console itself, Mario's Tennis was the bundled game with the Virtual Boy in the USA.
As you can see from the video clip, the game is basically your bog standard tennis game, featuring Mario and co.
The 3D effect is very good, and as I found when trying to play it, it's entirely essential, as the lack of a shadow under the ball makes it impossible to judge the ball position without it.
This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
