This is a short video clip of me playing Teleroboxer on the Nintendo Virtual Boy retro 3D video games console.
Obviously, as the camera can only point into one of the two eyepieces, you will not experience the excellent 3D effect in this video.
Published by Nintendo in 1995.
Teleroboxer pits your robot against a series of other robotic robots, blah blah blah... you know how these games work.
What makes this game cool, apart from the wonderful 3D depth perception effect, is the clever use of the controller.
The controller has 2 D-pads, and each pad controls each respective hand on your robot. So, up on the right pad raises your robot's right hand, etc. While initially a little confusing, it soon becomes second nature, and allows for some very intricate attacking and defensive moves.
This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like
