This is a short video clip of me playing Wario Land on the Nintendo Virtual Boy retro 3D video games console.
Obviously, as the camera can only point into one of the two eyepieces, you will not experience the excellent 3D effect in this video.
Published by Nintendo in 1995.
Wario Land is the kind of platform gaming romp that we've all come to expect from Nintendo's Mario and Wario franchises, but one which makes good use of the 3D effects available on the Virtual Boy.
Besides the usual climb stuff, jump on stuff, pick things up, throw stuff gaming, there's the ability to jump into and out of the screen, or rather, the playfield.
This adds a whole new level of depth to the game, and is extremely well implemented.
Many people consider Wario Land to be the best game available for the Virtual Boy, though purely on a personal level, I was never into platform games. So while Red Alarm remains my fave, I can definitely say this is a good game.
This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like
